Two limits worth knowing before you buy: color marking works on stainless steel and titanium only, and cutting is limited to thin brass, stainless steel, and aluminum. Wood, clear acrylic, and clear glass are not supported — clear materials let the 1064nm beam pass straight through, and wood chars rather than engraves cleanly.

S3 pairs a 20W fiber laser source with an industrial galvanometer (galvo) scanning head. Instead of moving a gantry along rails, the galvo head steers the beam with mirrors — which is how it reaches up to 10,000mm/s while holding a 0.01mm spot. It engraves up to 1.5mm deep in most metals, marks color on stainless steel and titanium, and cuts thin metal. Actual results vary by material and settings.

The standard working area is 150 × 150mm. With the optional slide extension kit it expands to 350 × 150mm, which fits wider artwork and full-surface designs in a single pass — no repositioning between runs.

Yes. On stainless steel and titanium, S3 creates color by altering the surface oxide layer — no ink, no coating, nothing to peel. Shades are controlled by laser frequency and pass count rather than pigment, so color results vary by alloy, power, frequency, and number of passes.

S3 is a Class 4 laser product. Wear 1064nm safety glasses whenever it is running, keep the safety key out of reach of children, never look directly into the beam or its reflections, and use an air purifier or fume extractor when marking plastics, rubber, leather, or coated metals.
